The Los Angeles Philharmonic will host a free concert at Morningside High School in Inglewood on Saturday, September 28 at 7 p.m.  The concert will be in the Flo Hyman Auditorium.  The LA Phil will open the Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) Center in Inglewood next year.

“This concert is an introduction and an invitation of what this will be,” said Leni Boorstin, LA Phil Senior Advisor, External Engagement.  “We’ll have information about the YOLA center, and we can answer any questions that people may have.  This is the beginning for both Inglewood and the neighboring communities to get to know us, and as importantly for the LA Phil, that we get to know Inglewood.”

Inglewood Mayor James Butts will open the show, and the Inglewood High School marching band will perform.  There will be a double basses performance by Inglewood natives and YOLA alum Dalanie Harris, a student at Eastmen School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York, and Moses Aubrey, a student at UCLA.

The LA Phil orchestral, led by conductor Paolo Bortolameolli, will perform.  For more information about the LA Phil and the YOLA program, visit https://www.laphil.com/.
