Photos by Jason Lewis<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure>&nbsp;<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The city of Inglewood has seen massive changes during Mayor James Butts&rsquo; tenure.&nbsp; Many residents are enjoying the resurgence that the city is having, but many people question if the long-term residents are benefitting from the massive amount of revenue that&rsquo;s passing through Sofi Stadium and the soon to be built Clippers arena. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">On this election ballot will be the seats for mayor, Council District 1, and Council District 2.&nbsp; Butt&rsquo;s (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.joinjamesbutts.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.joinjamesbutts.com<\/a>) is running for re-election, and he will be challenged by Miya Walker (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.miyaformayor.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.miyaformayor.com<\/a>), Fredrisha &#8220;Sha&#8221; Dixon (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fredrishadixon.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fredrishadixon.com<\/a>), Angelique Johnson (www.inglewoodstrong.org), Raina Carrillo (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rainaforinglewood.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.rainaforinglewood.com<\/a>), and Chika Ogoke. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Councilman George Dotson has six challengers for his First District seat.&nbsp; Dotson&rsquo;s challengers are Yolanda Davidson (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.yd4district1.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.yd4district1.com<\/a>), Taj Powell (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tajpowell.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.tajpowell.com<\/a>), Gloria Gray (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gloriagray4citycouncil.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.gloriagray4citycouncil.com<\/a>), Leonard Redway (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.redway4council.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.redway4council.com<\/a>), Alena Cindy Giardina, and Kevin Taylor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In Council District 2, Councilman Alex Padilla will be challenged by Bobby Brown (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.votebobbybrown.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.votebobbybrown.com<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Several of the challengers of these three seats recently participated in an Inglewood Candidate Forum at All In Coworking of Inglewood.&nbsp; The event was in partnership with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Beta Psi Lambda Chapter (Los Angeles) and Pi Rho Lambda Chapter (Inglewood), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
