With only seven percent of robotic engineers being female, leaders from the Engineer Factory and SoLA Robotics are encouraging high school and middle school girls to enter the STEM field.
The youth center steers children away from gangs with their college-ready programs that emphasize STEM fields. It recently received vital funds to install bullet-resistant glass and Kevlar into the walls of the building to protect the children from stray bullets.
In a collaboration of iD Tech Camps, the Annenberg Foundation, and the L.A. Promise Fund, 200 South L.A. students were able to participate in a week-long tech camp at UCLA and Loyola Marymount University.
