The annual music and dance festival features Chicago house, Afrobeats and hip hop. The festival is Saturday, August 17 at the Whittier Narrows at the Meadows in South El Monte.
The festival will be held August 27, 11:30 a.m. – 8:45 p.m. on the upper parking deck at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza.

Brown’s musical career has been greatly influenced by her upbringing in South Los Angeles.
The festival will take place March 5 through April 11 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and California African American Museum.
Charlie Wilson, Raphael Saadiq, Chaka Khan, El DeBarge, Dionne Farris, Meshell Ndegeocello, and BeBe Winans will perform songs throughout the history of Black films.
The festival takes place July 27-28, and features live music, art, vendors, a food court, and health services.
The summer day camp will feature fun learning activities that are based on Black culture.
